Coaches Meredith Moran, Larisa Cherewko and Missy Smith
Meredith Moran: Born and raised in Birmingham, Michigan, Meredith began skating ?precision? with the Birmingham Blazing Blades. She became a competitive freestyle skater, and at the age of 14, joined Team Elan's Senior Team, skating with them for four years. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and was a member of Miami's Senior Synchronized Skating Team all four years. She was captain of the Miami Senior Team as they won the U.S. National title in 2006, and captured 4th place at the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Prague. Graduating with a major in exercise science and currently working in the physical therapy field, Meredith aspires to further her education as a physician assistant. She has a gold medal in moves in the field and is finishing her gold dances.
Larisa Cherewko: Larisa joined the Metroliner's coaching staff at the end of the 05-06 season and has since served as head coach for the Preliminary and Pre-Juvenile teams. Larisa was also once a Metroliner, skating with the Intermediate and Junior teams from 1997-1999. She went on to skate at the University of Delaware on the Senior and Collegiate teams. Larisa continues to compete in the Adult division and won a Bronze medal at Nationals this past season with Team Delaware.
Missy Smith: From Annapolis, MD, Missy has been a member of the Metroliners since the age of 7, skating on the Preliminary, Intermediate, and Junior levels. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she was a 4-year member of the Miami Collegiate Varsity Team and served as Team Captain during her Jr. and Sr. season. While there, she won three National Championships and several individual awards, including Team Spirit Award, Outstanding Skater, and Senior of the Year. Missy has a gold medal in moves in the field and is actively pursuing her gold medal in dance.
Vicki Korn: USFS/PSA 2006-2007 Coach of the Year. Head of Synchronized Skating at Miami University USFSA Gold Medalist in figure Freestyle, and Pre-Gold Medalist in Ice Dancing. She is rated PSA Master Program Director, Synchronized Team Coach, Group Instructor and Senior rated in Figures and Freestyle. Vicki has also served on the Board of Directors for the USFSA, ISI and was also the PSA Synchronized Chair. She is currently the Head Varsity Coach of the Internationally ranked Miami University Synchronized Skating Team and has been Director of the Goggin Ice Arena (Miami University, of Ohio) for the past 25 years. |
